Distinctives
At Living Stones College, we have:
- An apostolic, five-fold ministry focus: Our goal is to raise up the next generation of pastors, church planters, missionaries, and church leaders.
- A high regard for the local church! Our college tap root is Living Stones Church - an active, life-giving, small group based fellowship.
- Solid, Biblical teaching: Students receive inspirational impartation from a mature, fruitful, ministry faculty as well as guest missionaries and visiting pastors.
- Great Completion mandate: Mission is a priority, in particular, Unreached (ethnic) People Groups. GlobalROAR, our mission sending structure, houses an extensive database of strategic information on who is church planting among the remaining 6600 Unreached People Groups (formerly Adopt-A-People Clearinghouse).
- Strong academics: Our students complete 45 academic credit hours of classroom study. Each academic hour is equivalent to 12 - 15 hours of classroom time per subject.
- Ministry mentoring and opportunities for practical training: Students participate in 9 credits of practicums, which adds up to over 100 hours of practical ministry training. That time is spent in ministry both at a local church setting, as well as in outreach and church planting in urban and ethnic neighborhoods. Our Chicago campus, which is located in the most diverse zip code in America, is a great base to launch from in cross cultural ministry!
- A mission field intensive: At the end of their academic training, single students spend seven weeks overseas working with a GlobalROAR missionary. Married students may opt to participate in a 10 day - 2 week mission trip and then participate in outreach at our Chicago campus.
- Corporate, prophetic prayer (Harp and Bowl): Worship and intercession are a vital part of our school. Students join Living Stones Church staff for corporate prayer two times a week, as well as take part in special prayer events at the church.
- A cooperative, serving spirit: We want to serve and assist you in your local church Kingdom vision!
- A multi-generational student body: The college trains those who are young, as well as those who are young at heart.
